The Central Library Section at University of Alkafeel , in cooperation with the College of Medicine, organized an introductory workshop and field visit for freshman students : “ Operational Mechanisms of Central Library.” The workshop was presented by Ms. Dhikra Abdul Aziz Mahmoud on Monday, 20 April 2026.
The event aimed to familiarize students with library services and how to utilize them, thereby enhancing their scientific research skills and facilitating access to print and electronic resources. It included an explanation of how to search the library website, the lending and cataloging system, and an introduction to the diverse scientific resources available. The students were introduced to e-books available on the Al-Siraj platform, which supports their academic journey and enhances their skills in using modern knowledge resources.
The visit included a tour of the library facilities, services, and borrowing and research procedures, which contributes to developing their academic skills and fostering a culture of reliance on scientific resources. The event recommended encouraging students to make continuous use of library services and promoting a culture of research and reading, along with organizing regular introductory visits and developing library services to meet their needs.
