An awareness lecture on self-examination for the early detection of breast diseases was organized by the College of Medicine at University of Alkafeel . The lecture, “Steps for Self-Examination for Early Detection of Breast Diseases,” was presented by Dr. Farqad Falah Hassan Al-Khalidi on Monday, 20 April 2026. The lecture aimed to raise the women awareness of the importance of breast self-examination, introduce the mechanism for early detection of pathological changes, and encourage regular monitoring of their health to reduce delays in diagnosing breast diseases.
The lecture highlighted the practical steps of self-examination and how to regularly observe any changes in the shape or texture of the breast. It emphasized that self-examination is a supplementary tool that does not replace specialized medical examinations but rather complements them in the framework of preventative healthcare. The event recommended conducting self-examinations regularly, promoting a culture of early detection, encouraging consultation with a specialist upon noticing any changes, and supporting the continuation of awareness events related to the health of women.
