The College of Medicine at University of Alkafeel organized a training workshop entitled “Mechanisms for Managing Emergencies in Obstetrics and Gynecology,” presented by Dr. Shatha Farouk Aboud, on Sunday, 10 May 2026. The workshop aimed to develop staff skills in decision-making and managing emergencies, and to enhance communication and teamwork skills in a clinical emergency setting.
The workshop included the presentation of hypothetical emergency cases and a discussion of the appropriate course of action, with an analysis of the decisions made and feedback from the presenter on the scientific and clinical aspects that require improvement in the speed and accuracy of decision-making.
The workshop also emphasized the importance of seeking assistance when needed and promoting effective communication among members of the medical team. Additionally, a checklist of the most important emergencies in obstetrics and gynecology was developed to support clinical performance.
At the conclusion of the workshop, it was recommended that specialized training workshops continue to be organized and that simulation and clinical discussions be adopted to develop the skills of medical personnel, thereby contributing to increased efficiency in handling emergency cases.
