The Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance Evaluation held a specialized workshop on the application of the international standards ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety Management), ISO 14001:2018 (Environmental Management), and ISO 50001:2018 (Energy Management) on Sunday, May 17, 2026. The workshop was attended by a number of faculty members and staff.
The workshop, presented by Asst.Prof. Dr. Abdul-Sahib Saad Jabran, included a detailed explanation of the requirements of these standards and their implementation mechanisms in the university environment. It also highlighted their role in improving institutional performance, enhancing the work environment, promoting safety and sustainability, and rationalizing energy consumption through practical examples and interactive discussions among the participants.
The workshop emphasizes the importance of applying international standards to the university work environment, improving institutional performance, and strengthening safety, environmental, and energy management procedures. At the conclusion of the activity, participants recommended the necessity of disseminating a culture of quality, occupational safety, and environmental protection, implementing energy management procedures and rationalizing consumption in university facilities, and strengthening cooperation between departments and administrative units to ensure the effective implementation of international standards.
