Vehemently Muslims commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Muhammad al-Jawad (peace be upon him), the ninth Imam of the Ahlalbayt (peace be upon them), who, though young , exemplified profound knowledge, wisdom, and religious leadership. He played a pivotal role in establishing the principles of the Ahlalbayt school of thought, which are based on spreading religious awareness, virtuous ethics, and serving the Muslim community.

 In this context, the Department of Psychological Guidance and Educational Orientation   at University of Alkafeel  organized a commemoration ceremony for this poignant occasion. The ceremony was attended by the University President, Prof.Dr. Nawras Muhammed Shaheed Al-Dahan,  deans, assistant deans, faculty members and university staff, on Sunday,  17 May 2026.

The ceremony began with a recitation of ayats from Glorious Quran by Seid. Muhannad al-Mayali, Director of Glorious Quran Institute affiliated with the Holy Al-Abbas Shrine in Najaf. Then there were a mourning ceremony and a religious lecture delivered by His Eminence Sheikh. Jaafar Al-Waeli, in which he reviewed aspects of the life of Imam Muhammad Al-Jawad (peace be upon him), highlighting his knowledge, insight, and wisdom in confronting intellectual and social challenges, as well as his missionary role in preserving the principles of authentic Islam and disseminating the teachings of the Ahlalbayt (peace be upon them).

The lecture also addressed the meanings of patience and steadfastness embodied by Imam Al-Jawad (peace be upon him), recalling key moments from his blessed life, his unjust martyrdom, and the profound impact of his life on believers and successive generations.

This event is part of the activities that the Department of Psychological Guidance and Educational Orientation   at University of Alkafeel  is keen to hold to commemorate the occasions of the Ahlalbayt (peace be upon them) on campus, contributing to the consolidation of religious values and the strengthening of faith and cultural awareness among students and university staff, and building a conscious generation with the principles of ethics and values.
