The Department of Medical Laboratory Technologies at the College of Medical and Health Technologies, University of Alkafeel , in cooperation with the Lifelong Learning Unit, organized a lecture : “Forms of Cyberbullying in University Environment.” All the details of such an important topic were considered by the presenter : Asst.Lect. Layla Kadhim Radif on Wednesday, 20 May 2026.

    The lecture addressed the concept of cyberbullying in its various forms : defamation, impersonation, deliberate exclusion, and harmful messages, highlighting its negative effects on the mental health and academic performance of the students .

     Such an activity concerns itself with promoting a responsible interaction with the digital space and to establish a culture of safe internet use in the university community. It also is to educate students on mechanisms for confronting and protecting themselves, such as blocking bullies and documenting evidence of online abuse through screenshots, thus ensuring the preservation of their rights and the possibility of reporting.

     The lecturer also emphasized the importance of psychological support and the necessity for students to seek assistance from responsible authorities if they experience any form of online blackmail or abuse. This contributes to creating a safe and healthy university environment based on mutual respect.

     At the conclusion of the event, the lecturer recommended intensifying awareness programs pertinent to digital security and activating communication channels with college deans to address bullying cases confidentially and promptly, thereby disseminating a culture of digital awareness and responsibility among students.
