University Of Alkafeel
On Saturday, 13 June 2026, University of Alkafeel hosted the fourth preparatory symposium for the second international scientific conference commemorating the millennium of the Najaf Seminary. The symposium was held under the auspices of the Holy Abbas Shrine and in cooperation with the Supreme Authority for Heritage Revival.
The symposium was attended by the President of University of Alkafeel , Prof.Dr. Nawras Muhammad Shahid al-Dahhan, the Vice-Chancellor for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Nawal A'id al-Mayali, a distinguished group of professors, scholars from the seminary, academics, community leaders, and members of the al-Turaihi family.
The symposium, "Allamah. Fakhr al-Din al-Turayhi (d. 1085 AH) and His Scholarly and Literary Contributions," embraced researchers to explore several scholarly themes that highlighted his intellectual and scholarly legacy. These included his Mahdist teachings in his book "Majma' al-Bahrain," an examination of his book "Al-Muntakhab min al-Majalis wa al-Khatab," and a discussion of al-Turayhi's unique contributions to "Majma' al-Bahrain." The symposium also addressed his contributions to the science of hadith conveyers (rijal) through his book "Jami' al-Maqal fima Yata'allaq bi al-Hadith wa Ahwal al-Rijal."
This symposium is part of ongoing efforts to show the scholarly impact of the scholars of the Najaf seminary and to revive their intellectual and cultural heritage in preparation for the international conference commemorating the millennium of the blessed seminary.
