University of Alkafeel begins preparing its atmosphere for the arrival of the holy month of Muharram, the month of mourning and tragedy, by displaying signs of mourning in its various facilities to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), his family, and his companions, and to remember the eternal tragedy of Karbala and the profound human values and reformist principles it embodies.
The preparations included raising black flags and hanging mourning banners in the university corridors and courtyards, reflecting an atmosphere of grief and condolence and embodying the university affinity with the authentic Husseini approach and its commitment to commemorating religious occasions with educational and cultural dimensions.
Such a step comes through the university approach to consolidating the values inspired by the uprising of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), foremost among them the principles of truth, justice, reform, and human dignity, which contributes to strengthening intellectual awareness and ethical conduct among students and university staff.
Commemorating Ashura is an important occasion to draw lessons and inspiration from the epic of Karbala and to solidify the meanings of patience, steadfastness, and sacrifice for the sake of principles, so that this commemoration remains a renewed school in building human and moral awareness across generations.
