University Of Alkafeel
The Department of Psychological Guidance at University of Alkafeel held a mourning session as part of its ongoing program to commemorate the days of Muharram. The gathering was attended by a number of faculty members and staff on Monday, 22 June 2026.
The gathering began with a blessed recitation of ayats from Glorious Quran by reciter Ali Al-Zubaidi from the Institute of Glorious Quran pertinent to the Abbas Holy Shrine.
There were several programmes : a religious lecture delivered by His Eminence Said. Hassan Al-Baaj, who addressed the importance of choosing a righteous friend and their role in shaping one's character and instilling moral and faith-based values. He reviewed a number of criteria that should be considered when choosing a friend and the impact of good companionship on guiding behavior and strengthening integrity.
The lecturer also highlighted the lives of the companions of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and the timeless examples they set of loyalty, sincerity, and steadfastness to principles. He explained their great stature and honorable stances in supporting Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) on the Day of Ashura, and the meanings of sacrifice and selflessness they embodied in the cause of truth.
Such a program is part of a series of mourning session held by the Psychological Guidance Department at University of Alkafeel during the month of Muharram. Its aim is to commemorate the uprising of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), enhance religious and cultural awareness, and solidify the human values inspired by the school of Ahlalbayt (peace be upon them).
