University Of Alkafeel
The Psychological Guidance Department at University of Alkafeel held a morning session as part of its ongoing program to observe the days of the holy month of Muharram. The gathering, held on Tuesday, 23 June 2026, was attended by a number of faculty members and staff.
The gathering began with a recitation of ayats from Glorious Quran by reciter Ali al-Zubaidi from the Institute of Glorious Quran pertinent to the Holy Abbas Shrine. Then there were a morning session and a religious lecture delivered by His Eminence Seid. Hassan al-Baaj.
In his lecture, Seid.al-Baaj discussed the life of Abu al-Fadhl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), highlighting his unwavering faith, profound loyalty to Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), and his exalted status as a symbol of sacrifice and devotion. He also highlighted the heroic stances he embodied in the Battle of Karbala and the immortal sacrifices he made in defense of his brother, Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), and the principles for which he revolted .
The lecturer explained that the character of Abu al-Fadhl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) represents a complete school of devotion, courage, and selflessness, emphasizing the importance of drawing inspiration from these values in building character and instilling the meanings of loyalty and responsibility in society.
This gathering is part of a series of mourning sessions organized by the University Psychological Guidance Department at the University of Alkafeel during the month of Muharram to commemorate the uprising of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and his loyal companions, and to enhance religious and cultural awareness among the university staff and students.
