University Of Alkafeel
The Department of Psychological Guidance at the University held a mourning session on Saturday, 11 July 2026, to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Ali ibn al-Husayn al-Sajjad (peace be upon him) in the al-Qamar Hall. The ceremony was attended by the University President, Prof.Dr. Nawras Muhammed Shaheed Al-Dahhan, the Vice-Chancellor for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Nawal Ayed Al-Mayali, deans of colleges, their deputies, heads of departments, and a number of faculty members and staff.
The ceremony began with a recitation of ayats from Glorious Quran by Seid. Muhannad Al-Mayali, Director of the Glorious Quran Institute affiliated with the Holy Abbas Shrine in Najaf. This was followed by a religious lecture delivered by Dr. Ibrahim al-Nasirawi, who discussed the life of Imam al-Sajjad (peace be upon him), highlighting the values of patience, worship, and reform embodied in his blessed life, and his role in establishing Islamic principles and spreading faith after the Battle of Karbala.
Such a session is part of the religious and cultural programs that University of Alkafeel is keen to hold to revive the occasions of the Ahlalbayt (peace be upon them) and to promote faith and human values in the university community.
