The Lifelong Learning Center, in cooperation with the College of Medicine at University of Alkafeel , held a specialized training workshop for medical students on Tuesday, 14 July 2026, as part of the preparations of the university for the Arbaeen pilgrimage. The workshop aimed to equip students to participate in providing medical and emergency services to pilgrims visiting the shrine of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
The workshop included practical training in basic surgical suturing principles, medical sterilization techniques, and initial management of minor wounds and injuries. This training contributed to developing the clinical skills of the students and preparing them to handle emergency cases according to sound scientific principles. A group of professors from the College of Medicine at University of Alkafeel attended the event , in this regard , the dean of the College of Medicine, Asst. Prof.Dr. Samer Makki Al-Hakkak emphasized the importance of boosting their practical skills in combining theoretical and applied learning to prepare doctors with unique competence . Such an event falls within the remit of the training programs implemented by University of Alkafeel to enhance the skills of its students and solidify their role in serving the community through active participation in the medical teams supervised by the university during the Arba'een pilgrimage.
