University of Alkafeel Discusses Industrial and Academic Integration Strategy
2026 - 07 - 19

On Sunday, 19 July 2026, University of Alkafeel  held an expanded meeting, chaired by the Vice-Chancellor for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Nawal Ayed Al-Mayali. The meeting was attended by several deans and their deputies, heads of academic departments, the Head of the Communications Department at the Holy Al-Abbas Shrine, Eng. Firas Abbas Hamza, the Director of the Scientific Affairs Department, and the Head of the Gardens and Sciences Section . The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the academic and industrial integration strategy and mechanisms for transforming student graduation projects into applied projects that contribute to serving national institutions.

This meeting stems from the vision of the Holy Al-Abbas Shrine, which believes that universities are the cornerstone of industrial development in advanced countries and that graduation projects represent the most important milestone in the academic journey of the students , given their innovative ideas and scientifically sound, applicable solutions.

The meeting included discussions on developing a strategic plan to move graduation projects from the theoretical realm to practical application. This will be achieved by creating an integrated environment that brings together the university and the industrial sector, thus directing research efforts toward meeting the technical needs of national institutions, foremost among them the Holy Abbas Shrine.

Attendees emphasized the importance of strengthening the partnership between the university and the industrial sector. This partnership will enhance the utilization of scientific research outputs, elevate their skills, align educational outcomes with labor market demands, support innovation, and transform promising research ideas into projects with developmental impact. Such comes with the vision of the University of Alkafeel to serve  the community and contributing to sustainable development.
