University Of Alkafeel
Under the auspices of the Holy Al-Abbas Shrine, University of Alkafeel commenced its services to zuwar commemorating the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) on Friday, 24 July 2026. The annual service mawkib of the university held in the holy city of Najaf, is part of its ongoing efforts to serve zuwar during the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
The activities of the mawkib are directed by faculty, students, the personnel and a number of volunteers who continue to provide various services to zuwar with a spirit of cooperation and devotion , embodying the values of service and volunteerism.
All of these activities are directly observed by the President of University of Alkafeel , Prof. Dr. Nawras Muhammed Shaheed Al-Dahhan, who directs every necessary resources and facilities to ensure the smooth operation and continuous provision of services to the zuwar throughout the pilgrimage period.
The mawkib covers a variety of services : free offerings ; meals, water, juices, and rest areas, as well as health services and first aid for both men and women, thus meeting the needs of pilgrims and providing them with comfort during their journey to the holy city of Karbala.
Such an annual initiative embodies the commitment of the University of Alkafeel to serving the zuwar of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and fostering a culture of giving and volunteerism, in line with its academic mission and community role. It also reflects the dedication of the university to actively participate in commemorating religious occasions and serving the community.
