The College of Science at University of Alkafeel held a scientific workshop : "Artificial Intelligence: between Enhancing Learning and Preserving Critical Thinking," presented by Asst.Prof. Dr. Mohsin Hassan Hussein.
The workshop addressed mechanisms for the informed integration of generative AI tools into the educational environment. It highlighted the distinction between using technology to support the educational process and over-reliance on it, while also discussing the impact of unregulated use on the critical and analytical thinking skills of the students .
Emphasis was placed on leveraging AI for comprehension, clarification, comparison, question generation, mind mapping , linguistic and stylistic proofreading. At the same time, the workshop underscored the importance of maintaining the role in analysis, knowledge construction, and the completion of academic tasks of the student through their own independent effort.
