On Sunday, 18 October 2026, the University Psychological Guidance Department at University of Alkafeel organized a series of guidance and awareness lectures in its colleges. These sessions aimed to promote ethical behavior, develop positive dialogue skills, and raise awareness regarding the psychological and social consequences of the excessive use of social media platforms.

The sessions included a lecture : "Polite Behavior and Avoiding Offensive Language," delivered by Counsl. Kawthar Alawi Kamil at the College of Engineering. This lecture addressed the importance of adhering to public decorum, respecting others, and fostering positive relationships within the university environment.

Moreover , both the educational counselor and assistant lecturer Zainab Habib Jaafar delivered a lecture :  "Power of Persuasion through Positive and Productive Dialogue," aimed at female students residing in university dormitories. The session focused on developing skills in persuasion, active listening, and managing dialogue in a scientific and ethical manner, while distinguishing between constructive discourse and futile argument.

In the same vein, Counsl. Noor Maitham Abbas presented a lecture to second-year students at the College of Medicine : "Negative Effects of Social Media Use." This session explored how excessive use of these platforms impacts mental health, potentially leading to anxiety and stress, and discussed its repercussions on self-esteem, family and social relationships.

These activities are part of the ongoing efforts in the university to enhance the psychological and educational awareness of the students , instill positive behavior, and cultivate effective communication skills, contributing to fostering a conscious and respectful university environment.
