On Monday, 10/21/2024, the College of Technical Engineering held an awareness seminar: "Drugs and Their Effects", presented by Asst. Lect. Hashem Ali Hashem Al-Awadi, as part of the efforts of college to enhance community awareness of the dangers of drugs and their negative effects on the individual and society.
The seminar addressed the definition of the different types of drugs and their physical and psychological effects, highlighting the possible methods for dealing with the phenomenon of the spread of drugs, and the necessary means of awareness to reduce them. The preventive measures that can be taken to protect society from this scourge were also addressed.
At the end of the seminar , a set of recommendations were presented, most notably the need to intensify awareness activities about drugs, and enhance cooperation with health and community institutions to provide support to those who are affected. The recommendations also called for organizing training workshops for students to enhance their skills in confronting this phenomenon, while emphasizing the importance of continuous education about the risks related to drugs.
