To enhance awareness of pharmacognosy and the importance of medicinal plants in the medical field, University of Alkafeel hosted its first Pharmacognosy and Medicinal Plants Exhibition on Monday, 11/3/2024. The exhibition attracted attention of the university rector, Prof.Dr.Nawras Mohammed Shaheed Al-Dahan , Asst. Prof. Dr. Nawal Ayed Al-Mealy, vice-dean for scientific affairs , the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, faculty members and students from the second and third stages. The exhibition, supervised by the faculty, featured student-led presentations on pharmacognosy and medicinal plants, explaining methods of extracting active compounds from plants and their pharmaceutical importance. Activities included practical experiments such as extracting volatile oils and caffeine, and demonstrations on starch.
