The Department of Medical Laboratory Technology at the College of Medical and Health Technologies, University of Alkafeel, organized a summer training workshop on Monday, September 8, 2024, as part of the summer training program supervised with the Summer Training Unit at the college.
The workshop, which targeted second- and third-year students, focused on enhancing their skills in blood collection procedures, coagulation tests, bleeding time tests, and blood categorization . The goal of this workshop was to improve the proficiency of the students in patient handling and increase their accuracy in performing fundamental manual tests necessary for work in medical laboratories.
The workshop supervisors emphasized that practical training is a vital component in preparing students for the job market, where they are trained to handle blood samples accurately and safely while performing necessary tests according to laboratory safety standards.
