The Anesthesia Techniques Department at the College of Health and Medical Technologies, University of Alkafeel, organized a specialized training course for sophomore students, which began on Saturday, September 7, 2024, and lasted for four days. The course aimed to enhance the students' clinical skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and handling emergency situations.
The course was supervised by Prof. Ahmed Mohammed Ubaid and Prof. Ahmed Hamid Al-Hilu, who trained students on various practical topics : Basic Life Support (BLS) using the new global system, adult and pediatric CPR, electrocardiography (ECG), management of ventricular fibrillation, atrial fibrillation, and ventricular tachycardia (VT, VF, AF), as well as the use of defibrillation (DC Shock) in cases of sudden cardiac arrest, lung collapse, and abdominal and chest injuries.
The supervisors emphasized that the main objective of the course was to prepare students with the essential skills required in practical fields, particularly in managing emergency situations in hospitals and health centers. The course also aimed to solidify the desire of the students to apply medical knowledge, contribute to improving their future performance. At the end of the course, a comprehensive evaluation was conducted to assess the benefits of the students from the training and the progress in their performance.
