On Sunday, September 15, 2024, the College of Health and Medical Technologies at the University of Alkafeel drew a training course on "Occupational Safety and Biological and Chemical Risk Management," to a close . The course was organized in collaboration with the Lifelong Educational Center. The three-day course targeted faculty members and research assistants from the university.
Lectures were delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sadiq Ghani Jawada and Asst. Prof.
Dr. Abdul Sahib Saad Yahya Jabr, who provided detailed explanations on managing biological and chemical materials in laboratories, planning student experiments, handling incidents, and evacuation procedures. The course also emphasized the importance of maintaining occupational and personal safety standards in educational laboratories.
The first two days of the course included theoretical and practical lectures, while the third day featured a test to assess the learningacquired by the participants . Certificates of completion and participation is to awarded to those who successfully completed the course.
The college announced plans to reorganize the course for new faculty members and research assistants in the future to further enhance their skills in occupational safety and risk management.
