The Lifelong Learning Center at University of Alkafeel organized a scientific lecture on Monday, 9/23/2024 : “ The Importance of Digital Skills for Graduates in Finding Job Opportunities” , in the presence of deans of colleges , professors and a number of graduate students.

    The lecture was delivered by Prof.Dr.Yahya Mahdi Hadi Al-Mayali, a lecturer at the College of Technical Engineering at the university . There was an emphasis on the current technological developments that are imposed on graduates to acquire these digital skills, as they are a basic factor in competing in the labor market. Dr. Al-Mayali said: "Possessing digital skills is an urgent need for graduates from various specializations, whether medical, engineering or social."

    The lecture included several main axes, including defining digital skills and their importance, types of basic and specialized digital programming skills. Dr. Al-Mayali also touched on the role of these skills in enhancing the ability to work remotely and the importance of cybersecurity in the digital labor market.

   For his part, the Director of the Lifelong Learning Center, Asst. Prof.Dr. Muhammad Mohsen Al-Rifai, explained that this lecture comes as a series of workshops that aim to enhance digital skills among graduates in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. He added that the center seeks, through these workshops, to prepare and qualify students to increase their chances of obtaining jobs in the light of the global digital transformation and the private sector. At the end of the lecture, the opportunity was given to attendees to ask questions and participate in discussions, as Dr. Al-Mayali answered their inquiries related to the application of digital skills.
