As part of its efforts to optimize sustainability and protect the environment, Al-the university , pertinent to Holy Al-Abbas Shrine, invested parking spaces in installing solar panels to produce alternative energy. This project aims to generate electricity from solar energy to meet the need of the university . Such is to minimize the use of the traditional energy sources and reduce operating costs.
The solar panels installed in parking areas have a dual benefit : protection for cars from direct sunlight and production of clean and sustainable energy. This project reflects the commitment of the university to developing environmentally friendly projects and keeping pace with technological developments to serve society.
In a press statement, Prof.Dr. Nawras MohammedShaheed Al-Dahan, Al-Kafeel University chancellor , said: "This project represents an important step to minimize the carbon emissions and is a model to be emulated in exploiting spaces in innovative ways to support renewable energy initiatives in Iraq."
