The College of Pharmacy at University of Al-Kafeel organized an awareness campaign : "Early Detection Saves Lives" in conjunction with the World Breast Cancer Early Detection Month. The campaign was held on Monday 10/21/2024, and targeted female faculty members, affiliates and students at the college, with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of early detection and ways to prevent the disease.
The campaign was supervised by Dr. Zahraa Tawfiq, Pharmacist Hawra Turki and Pharmacist Adhraa Taklif. The activity included creating awareness posters explaining basic information about breast cancer and its common symptoms. The campaign also encouraged self-examination, and distributed pamphlets containing important information on how to increase the chances of recovery through early detection.
It was noted that the campaign aims to raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of following a healthy lifestyle : proper nutrition, exercise and reducing causative factors. Information was also provided about local centers that provide early screening services, how to reach them and their working hours.
