The Department of Medical Laboratory Technology at the College of Medical and Health Technology at University of Alkafeel organized a scientific awareness symposium : ""Post-Corona and Its effects on Heart for Smoking Patients"", on Sunday 10/27/2024, in the presence of a number of students and faculty members.
The symposium, by Asst. Lect. Alaa Muhammad Hussein, aims to educate attendees about the dangers of smoking and its cumulative effects on the heart, especially in patients who have recovered from the Corona virus, as the complications of smoking are pertinent to the exacerbation of respiratory infections and the heart in particular. The lecturer also shed light on the negative effects that may result from smoking addiction, explaining the close relationship between it and chronic diseases that affect the respiratory system and lungs.
The symposium concluded with a set of recommendations, the most important of which is the need to avoid smoking as a preventive step to avoid complications of heart and lung infections, in addition to enhancing health awareness between individuals about the long-term health risks associated with smoking, especially in light of the health conditions imposed by the post-Corona pandemic.
