 University of Alkafeel Organizing Seminar on Role of AI in Discovering New Drugs

On Wednesday 6/11/2024, the College of Pharmacy at  University of Alkafeel organized a Seminar on : "Role of Artificial Intelligence in Discovering New Drugs" in Al-Balaghy Hall at the college. The lecture was presented by Prof.Dr. Haider Kadhim, who discussed how to use artificial intelligence to accelerate the process of discovering and manufacturing drugs.

   The seminar aims to highlight the applications of artificial intelligence in the stages of drug discovery, and how this technical field can contribute to improving and developing the drug manufacturing process faster and more efficiently.

It also discussed how to benefit from artificial intelligence to stimulate innovation in the pharmaceutical industry.

    Dr. Haider Kazim explained how artificial intelligence applications can help accelerate the search for new drugs, through technologies such as machine learning and neural networks, which allows processing huge amounts of data faster and more accurately.

   The lecturer pointed out the importance of forming partnerships between pharmaceutical factories and artificial intelligence companies, which enhances the ability to innovate new drugs that meet standard criteria in production and manufacturing.

   The lecturer stressed that the use of artificial intelligence contributes to shortening the time and effort spent in the stages of drug discovery, and significantly reduces costs compared to traditional methods.

  This activity is a part of the efforts for College of Pharmacy to introduce students to the latest technologies in the field of pharmaceutical manufacturing, in line with global trends in the use of artificial intelligence to improve the results of research and development in health fields.

   Such a seminar aims to buttress the culture of innovation between students, and motivate them to keep pace with modern technological developments that contribute to improving health care and developing drugs in faster and more effective ways.
