The College of Pharmacy at University of Alkafeel held a special celebration today, Monday 11/11/2024, to honor a group of students who committed to reading the Ashura Visit for forty days, under the supervision of Asst. Lect. Farah Abdul Hussein Al-Sahlawi. This event comes within the framework of enhancing religious and moral values among students, and encouraging them to adhere to the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
The ceremony was attended by the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Asst. Prof. Dr. Saad Mashkoor Walid, and Asst.Prof.Dr. Ali Ahmed Hussein Al-Mayali, vice-dean for Administrative Affairs, a number of deans and teaching staff at the college who participated in this high-level religious event.
The student Mahdi Ali Musa, from the College of Pharmacy, said about his experience: “I have felt great success in my life since I started reading the AshuraVisit , as I noticed ease and blessings in every step I took. Its impact was psychological and moral, and it was a feeling of loyalty and commitment to the Master of Martyrs, Imam Hussein (peace be upon him). The Visit is not just words that are said, but rather it is a covenant with Imam Hussein and the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), and a covenant with oneself to remain on the right path and stay away from sins.” For her part, Asst. Prof. Farah Abdul Hussein Al-Sahlawi stated: “We started this initiative by trusting in Allah and it started with only 40 students, and after only one week the number became 272 students. New students were added to special groups and the number increased daily, as I sent them the Visit with some evidences that are positively reflected on their religious and moral lives. We believe that knowledge and moral commitment go hand in hand in building the integrated personality of the student.” Student Rabab Abbas, one of the committed students in reading, expressed her great impact on the Visit, saying: "My participation in this initiative came not only to learn the sciences of pharmacy, but also to deepen my religious connection and come closer to Allah Almighty. The Ashura Visit had a great impact on my life, as I felt closer to God, away from forbidden things, and adhering to the footsteps of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them)."
It is worth noting that this initiative aims to enhance religious awareness between the students, and encourage them to follow the approach of the Ahl al-Bayt in their daily lives, which solidifies the values of honesty, trustworthiness, and religious and moral commitment in the university community.
