On Wednesday, 11/13/2024, the College of Medicine at University of Alkafeel held a workshop as part of the continuing education activities, presented by Asst.Lect. Amir Muhammad Kadhim, which aimed to raise awareness among the teaching staff about the importance of artificial intelligence and its role in the medical and healthcare fields. The workshop addressed the roles of artificial intelligence in diagnosis, drug manufacturing, treatment selection, disease prediction, and facilitating scientific research procedures by making decisions based on prior data.
The challenges of the society acceptance of the idea of artificial intelligence were also addressed due to misconceptions and lack of general understanding of this field, in addition to the obstacles facing the application of artificial intelligence in Iraqi medicine, such as the lack of infrastructure and the lack of necessary data.
At the end of the workshop, the lecturer indicated that the future will show greater cooperation between humans and artificial intelligence, which will contribute to achieving the primary goal of medicine, which is to improve the life of the patients with the least possible losses.
