Under the patronage of University of Alkafeelchancellor , Prof.Dr. Nawras Mohammed Shaheed Al-Dahan, the Lifelong Learning Center, in collaboration with the Directorate of Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism in Najaf Al-Ashraf, held a scientific lecture today, Monday, 12/2/2024 : "Personal Electronic Security and Prevention of Cyber-Extortion ".

    The lecture was delivered by Colonel Alaa Hashem Salman in the College of Medicine building, and witnessed a distinguished attendance: chancellor of the University, Major General Maitham Shanan Kadhim , Director of Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism in Najaf Al-Ashraf, deans, faculty members, and university students.

    The lecture focused on educating the attendees about the importance of electronic security and ways to prevent digital threats, especially electronic blackmail, and also addressed mechanisms for protecting against risks that threaten personal data.

    The event was characterized by wide interaction, as attendees participated with various questions that focused on methods of combating electronic blackmail and enhancing information security. Suggestions were also made to develop awareness programs and practical workshops to train students on the safe use of digital means .

Be careful when using social media: refrain from publishing personal or sensitive information on public platforms.

Verify links and sources: avoid clicking on untrusted links or downloading applications from suspicious sources.

Enhance account security: use strong passwords and update them regularly.

Immediately report any threats: urge students to immediately report any attempts at electronic blackmail to obtain the necessary support.

Spreading awareness: contribute to educating others about the importance of protecting personal data from hacking.

    At the end of the lecture, the university chancellor expressed his thanks and gratitude to Colonel Alaa Hashem Salman and Major General Maitham Shanan Kadhim for their efforts in making the event a success, stressing the importance of continuing these activities to spread the digital security culture and protect the academic community from electronic risks.
