Under the patronage of the University of Alkafeel president , Prof.Dr. Nawras Mohammed Shaheed Al-Dahan, the College of Dentistry organized the third scientific forum for alumni of the college, which will fall within the remit of the sixth international scientific conference activities of the university. The forum was attended by an elite group of international and Iraqi academics, , the head of Dentists Syndicate Najaf Al-Ashraf, a number of graduates of the college and professors, on Monday 6/1/2025.

     The event was opened by reciting verses from Glorious Quran and Surat Al-Fatihah for the souls of the martyrs of Iraq, then the national anthem and the anthem of pride were played respectively in an atmosphere of loyalty to the homeland and science.

    The forum reflected distinguished scientific sessions, in which researchers reviewed the latest developments in the field of dentistry. The discussions covered various topics : the use of modern technology such as robots in dental surgeries and cleaning, and the latest research related to advanced treatments that have been developed in global research centers.

    There were educational specialized educational workshops in which a group of academics and experts in the field of dentistry participated. The workshops included training participants on the latest techniques in diagnosing and treating dental diseases and was dedicated to presenting advanced methods in dental surgery using modern devices. These workshops aimed to enhance the skills of attendees and develop their practical capabilities in line with global developments in this field.

    At the entrance to the College of Dentistry, a special pavilion was organized for scientific companies specialized in the field of dentistry, as the latest medical devices, supplies and advanced technologies that support modern dental practices were displayed. The pavilion provided attendees, including students and academics, with the opportunity to learn about new innovations and communicate with company representatives.

   In a speech delivered in the forum, Asst. Prof. Dr. Karim Maktouf Al-Ghanim, Dean of the College of Dentistry, said:

"Holding such a forum reflects the commitment of Alkafeel University to enhancing communication with its alumni by organizing periodic scientific events that contribute to developing their professional and scientific skills. The forum also aims to highlight and truck their achievements in the fields of health and community service."

    Then he added that the forum for this year is distinguished with launching unique initiatives : establishment of the Alumni Observation Unit, which aims to strengthen the connection between graduates and the university by creating a comprehensive database and various activities. The foundation of an interactive platform was also announced to connectgraduates with the faculty, which contributes to the exchange of experiences and enrichment of scientific knowledge.
Among the most prominent participants, Dr. Essam Shaker, a graduate of the 2021 batch of the college, gave a lecture in which he discussed common mistakes in dental root fillings, such as breaking tools inside the roots, and methods of treating these difficult cases professionally. Dr. Essam expressed his pride in participating, saying:

The forum is an opportunity to exchange experiences and transfer scientific knowledge. I thank my professors at the college for their efforts that contributed to building my professional care.

    The attendees praised such a prominent organization of the forum, expressing their appreciation for the efforts of Alkafeel University in providing a scientific platform that highlights the importance of research and development in the field of dentistry. Asst.Prof.Dr. Karim Maktouf Al-Ghanim stressed that this event represents an important step in the journey of the university       to support its graduates and provide a sustainable educational environment that keeps pace with global scientific developments.

    The third scientific forum for alumni of the College of Dentistry at Alkafeel University is an opportunity to confirm the role of the university in promoting academic excellence and encouraging scientific innovation, which consolidates its position as one of the leading institutions in supporting the academic and medical community in Iraq.
