The activities of the Sixth International Scientific Conference [ISCKU], held by University of Alkafeel under the auspices of the General Secretariat of Holy Al-Abbas Shrine, came an end on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
In day two , the conference showed the presentation of scientific papers that addressed various topics within different academic disciplines. The closing ceremony was attended by the chancellor of Alkafeel University, Prof. Dr. Nawras Mohammed Shaheed Al-Dahan, vice-chancellor for scientific affairs , Prof.Dr. Nawal Ayed Al-Mayali, the deans of the colleges, faculty members, and participating researchers. In her closing remarks, Dr. Nawal Al-Mayali said: "Here we are, meeting once again at University of Alkafeel University to conclude the events of the sixth international scientific conference, which witnessed a series of distinguished events. The College of Medicine organized a workshop on medical education in collaboration with the University of Northumbria , Newcastle in the United Kingdom over two consecutive days. The College of Dentistry also held its third forum for its graduates, and the College of Pharmacy witnessed its first forum for its graduates.
Moreover , the conference organized a specialized session to discuss updating the curricula of pharmacy colleges in Iraq to keep pace with the requirements of the labor market. The College of Dentistry also held a dialogue seminar that addressed self-development and creating job opportunities for students and graduates. The College of Medical and Health Technologies presented a lecture on academic accreditation and strategic planning, while the College of Technical Engineering addressed in its lecture the role of Iraqi patents in improving the national electricity grid. These events concluded with 42 research sessions that covered multiple specializations in the fields of medical, pharmaceutical, pure, and engineering sciences."
The conference resulted in a set of recommendations to enhance the scientific research and support its future paths, most notably:
-Advocating the spirit of scientific research among students and graduates as the nucleus of the future for the sustainability of scientific research and achieving its goals.
-Providing an appropriate research environment in Iraqi universities by allocating realistic budgets and investing them to meet the needs of society.
- Establishing international research partnerships with reputable international universities to form research teams and reinforce scientific exchange.
- Developing integrated research paths between basic sciences and medical research to produce research that effectively serves society.
- Supporting sustainable engineering research that contributes to the development of infrastructure while taking into account the environment and its natural resources.
- Encouraging the use of artificial intelligence in the design and implementation processes of the research projects.
- Enhancing vocational training and lifelong learning for graduates to ensure their excellence and success in the labor market.
-Transforming research results into applied projects that serve various sectors ; such as health and industry.
- Creating an electronic platform to record the problems of private and governmental institutions and transform them into future research projects, and making the completed researchstudies accessible .
The conference concluded by thanking the honorable guests and participating researchers, especially those who bore the brunt of travelling to participate in this event. Dr. Nawras Mohammed Shaheed Al-Dahan also praised the great efforts made with the University of Alkafeel family, commending the efforts of the organizing committees and the team spirit that contributed to highlighting the conference in a proper manner that reflects the vision and goals of the university .
