On Tuesday, 14/1/2025, Lifelong Learning Center at University of Alkafeel organized a specialized workshop : “Applying National Iraqi Standards for Laboratory Quality”, as part of the training plan for the Quality Assurance and University Performance Evaluation Department/ Technical Support and Training Section . The workshop targeted the quality assurance units incharges and laboratory accreditation committees in colleges and scientific departments to enhance the quality concepts and ensure the application of national standards to the university laboratories, which contributes to improving performance and achieving academic accreditation.

   The workshop was held in the Chancellery Building, third floor, Events Hall, in the presence of a group of specialists and officials at the university. The workshop was opened with a welcoming speech from the Quality Assurance Department, then there were some lectures presented by:

1. Lect.Muhammad Zuhair Hassan - Director of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Evaluation Department, as he discussed the importance of applying quality standards and their impact on enhancing the efficiency of laboratories.

2. Asst.Prof. Nour Hassoun Kadhim - Head of the Laboratory Accreditation Section , reviewing the steps and mechanisms for accrediting laboratories according to national Iraqi standards.

The workshop concluded with a set of recommendations : 

• The necessity of full adherence to national standards to ensure the quality of laboratories.

• Intensifying efforts to develop laboratory infrastructure in line with accreditation requirements.

• Organizing continuous training workshops to enhance the efficiency of the laboratories staff.

    Such a workshop falls within the acumen remit of University of Alkafeel to achieve academic excellence and ensure quality performance in all its facilities, based on its vision to provide high-quality education that serves the community and keeps pace with scientific developments.
