The Lifelong Learning Unit at the College of Pharmacy, in cooperation with the Pharmacognosy Department at University of Alkafeel , organized a scientific lecture : " Pharmacy Profession: between Religious Principles and Economic Feasibility." The lecture was delivered by Asst. Lect.Hiba Abdul-Jalil Abdul-Hadi on Monday, 23 February 2026.
The lecture presented a comprehensive view of the pharmacy profession as a humanitarian and ethical responsibility that extends beyond dispensing medication to include patient protection and ensuring their safety according to religious and ethical guidelines. It also highlighted the importance of economic feasibility through the rationalization of medication use and the reduction of waste. Furthermore, the lecture emphasized the role of the academic pharmacist as a role model for instilling the values of professional integrity and humanitarian responsibility in students.
The lecture recommended integrating ethical and religious values into pharmaceutical practice and academic education, promoting a culture of rational drug use, supporting the role of the academic pharmacist in establishing principles of integrity, and organizing future seminars and workshops to enhance the ethical and economic aspects of the pharmacy profession.
