University Of Alkafeel
As an Ashura program of consolation to the Messenger of Allah , may Allah bless him and his progeny , the university of Alkafeel on Wednesday 26 July 2023, 7 Muharram 1445 AH commemorated the martyrdom of the mawla Abi Al-Fadhl Al-Abbas , peace be upon him, in the presidency building .
The attendants were respectively the university of Alkafeel chancellor , Prof. Dr. Nawras Mohammed Shaheed Al-Dahan, vice-chancellor for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof.Dr. Nawal Ayed Al-Mayali, the deans of faculties, heads of departments and personnel .
The session began with a verse from Glorious Quran recited by seid. Muhannad Al-Mayali, director of the Glorious Quran Institute /Al-Najaf branch / Holy Al-Abbas Shrine . Then His Eminence Sheikh Hafidh Al-Dujaili ascended the pulpit : “My uncle Al-Abbas bin Ali was insightful, and solid in faith, struggled with his brother Al-Hussein, did a good job, and went on as a martyr” . As referred to the poignant Battle of Al-Taff in 61 AH, he was the flag bearer for his brother Imam Al-Hussein (peace be upon him) and fell martyr after his return from the second attempt to fetch water from the Euphrates River for the camp, and his hands were cut off.
It is mentioned that Aba Al-Fadhl Al-Abbas fell martyr at the age of 33 on 10 Muharram with his brother Imam Al-Hussein (peace be upon him), his companions and his family.
